We are delighted to invite you to the pre-conference workshop of the 21st ESDPPP Congress. This workshop offers a unique opportunity for researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals to enhance their expertise in developmental, perinatal, and paediatric pharmacology through a series of plenary lectures and interactive workshops.

Morning Session: Plenary Lectures
The morning session will feature distinguished speakers addressing key topics in paediatric and perinatal pharmacology. These lectures aim to provide a comprehensive overview of current challenges and advancements in the field, setting the stage for the interactive workshops in the afternoon.

Afternoon Session: Hands-On Workshops
In the afternoon, participants can choose from three specialized workshops designed to cater to different professional interests:

Pediatric Clinical Trial Design
Target Audience: Researchers specializing in paediatric pharmacology.

Methods: you will be working in a small group to design a pediatric study, based on a case we will present to you. We will guide you on the topics you need to address and at the end of the workshop, each group will present their case to discuss with the other attendees. The workshop will be led by experts in pediatric drug development. 

Learning Objectives:

• Understand the unique challenges in designing clinical trials for paediatric populations.
• Explore innovative methodologies for dose finding and safety assessments in children.
• Discuss regulatory considerations and ethical aspects of paediatric trials.

Design of Obstetric Drug Studies
Target Audience: Researchers focusing on obstetric and lactation pharmacology.

Methods: you will be working in a small group to design an obstetric study, based on a case we will present to you. We will guide you on the topics you need to address and at the end of the workshop, each group will present their case to discuss with the other attendees. The workshop will be led by experts in obstetric drug development. 

Learning Objectives:

• Examine the complexities involved in conducting drug studies during pregnancy.
• Learn about maternal-fetal pharmacokinetics and implications for drug safety.
• Develop strategies for recruiting and retaining pregnant participants in clinical research.

  
Clinically Focused Workshop
Target Audience: Doctors and pharmacists with an interest in paediatrics and obstetrics.

Methods: in this workshop, you will be presented a carrousel of clinical challenges related to pediatric and obstetric pharmacotherapy, including TDM, drug-drug interactions, lactation and more. 

Learning Objectives:

• Apply pharmacological principles to clinical scenarios in paediatric and obstetric care.
• Enhance decision-making skills regarding medication use in pregnant women and children.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
• These workshops are designed to provide practical skills and knowledge, encouraging active participation and discussion among attendees.
